Davey Grant Knocks Out Jonathan Martinez!

Both fighters immediately took the center of the Octagon and wasted no time getting after it. Jonathan Martinez did a good job chewing up the lead leg of Grant with leg and calf kicks. Grant threw every punch with bad intent and landed more than a few. Martinez landed a massive left at the end of the round that dropped Grant. It was a clear-cut round for Martinez.

Grant was the more active fighter in the second round and landed more shots while evading Martinez shots. After getting his range, he landed a single left hook that dropped and finished Jonathan Martinez. Unreal power on that left hook and what a performance from Davey Grant.

Daniel Cormier spoke to Grant post-fight. “I think the foot is definitely broken, but it’s absolutely worth it. It’s one of the shots I’ve been working on, throw to the body and then come over with the left hook. I’ll fight again straightaway”
