ONE on TNT III returns tonight with the third weekly instalment of the series filmed live from the Singapore Indoor Stadium and we have all of your ONE on TNT III results right here. The two-fight main card features UFC veteran John Lineker battle Troy Worthen, while Reece McLaren takes on Yuya Wakamatsu in the co-main-event.
Lineker was originally scheduled to fight Stephen Loman, but Worthen took the fight on short notice after a positive COVID-19 forced the fighter out of the ONE on TNT III.
ONE on TNT III: Lineker vs. Worthen Main Card
Since signing with ONE after his UFC release, Linekar has won both of his fights, defeating Muin Gafurov and Kevin Belington. Worthen won his first three bouts after signing with ONE Championship in 2019 but comes into the ring off a defeat against Yusup Saadulaev in December. This loss was Worthen’s first professional defeat.
With the UFC, Lineker fought in both flyweight and bantamweight divisions, earning wins over names like Marlon Vera and Michael McDonald. Lineker earned a 12-4 fight record before the UFC released him in 2019.
Worthen is younger than Lineker and has a four-inch height advantage over his opponent. Experience matters in the cage and Lineker definitely has a clear advantage in this department.
Worthen is skilled on the ground and comes to the bout with one submission win under his belt. Lineker’s experience gives him a major advantage, as does his knockout power.
If Lineker defeats Worthen, it’s expected that he will take on Bibiano Fernandez, widely considered the most accomplished ONE Championship fighter in the organization.
Co-Main Event: McLaren vs. Wakamatsu
The co-main event features Reece McLaren against Yuya Wakamatsu in the flyweight division. McLaren won his last bout against Aleksi Toivonen in October. Wakamatsu earned a knockout victory over Kyu Sung Kim last November.
Both men are hungry to climb the ONE ladder and bring a well-rounded arsenal of skills to the ring. Wakamatsu has won 11 of his victories by way of KO or TKO. McLaren will likely use his submission skills in attempts to takedown Wakamatsu who will need to force him to stand with him to win the bout.
