After their first meeting resulted in a majority draw, Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno will handle their unfinished business in the co-main event at UFC 263.
Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Brandon Moreno – UFC 263 Preview
UFC Flyweight champion Figueiredo holds a record of 20-1-1 professionally. Conversely, Moreno holds a professional record of 18-5-2. As the fight came to a draw, back in December at UFC 256, fight fans across the world witnessed one of the best fights in flyweight history. On that night, all parties were unanimously aware that a rematch was in order.

This weekend on June 12 inside the Gila River Arena, in Glendale, Arizona, the co-main event on ESPN+ will be the first of two championship belts contended, with the headliner serving with Israel Adesanya defending his middleweight title against former rival, Marvin Vettori.
Will Figueiredo Have Answers For Moreno’s Takedowns?
The two combatants put on a show with the champion’s right-hand piston busting up the orbital bone of Moreno. However, the challenger Moreno’s toughness persisted and would come on strong in the fourth round where he put it on the champion. Additionally, Moreno’s well-timed entries for takedowns were useful tools in stopping the unrelenting onslaught Figueiredo brings each fight. Like The Terminator, Figueiredo, with his hands down, walks opponents down and cracks them until they crumble. Not to mention, he’s extremely shifty on the mat and versed in framing his legs to get up from takedowns.
Since the two were so evenly matched last fight, fans are eager to see the conclusion to this epic rematch. Last time out, both men endured weight cuts back-to-back in a three-week time span, perhaps the performance and output of both fighters this time around will be even more rigorous. Certainly, when all is said and done, the world will finally have a clear flyweight champion, as the results were so inconclusive at UFC 256.
