MMASucka’s UFC Vegas 36 Staff Picks

The month of September has arrived as our MMASucka staff picks have reached the final third of the calendar year. UFC Vegas 36, also titled as UFC Fight Night 191, will take place in just a couple short hours from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. An earlier start time of 4:00pm ET (1:00pm PT) is in store for the main card, available only on ESPN+.

Our second staff picks fight card of ten straight events for Dana White’s Contender Series will be available this upcoming Tuesday, September 7.

Stay tuned to MMASucka for UFC Vegas 36: Brunson vs. Till results.

The Fights

Top-ranked middleweights Derek Brunson and Darren Till both look to make a statement in tonight’s featured main event. Brunson is set to make his third straight UFC main event appearance riding a four-fight win streak, most recently taking a five-round decision over Kevin Holland in March. An impressive performance tonight would put the former Wilmington, North Carolina native in a possible position for his first promotional title shot. Brunson’s opponent, Till, is need of a rebound following a back-and-forth defeat to Robert Whittaker last year. Despite having only one win in his last four bouts, the Englishman remains one of the best at 185 pounds since moving up from welterweight.

Expect heavy leather to be traded in the co-main event between England’s Tom Aspinall and Moldova’s Sergey Spivak. Aspinall will look for his third UFC victory and back up his recent “Performance of the Night” submission of veteran Andrei Arlovski. 26-year-old Spivak already targets his third win of 2021, lastly decisioning submission specialist Aleksei Oleinik less than three months ago.

Also on the main card sees the promotional debut of former Cage Warriors featherweight champion Paddy Pimblett and former TUF light heavyweight finalist Khalil Rountree Jr. Find out who the MMASucka staff are picking to win at UFC Vegas 36 further below.

Staff Picks

Throughout the calendar year, staff picks will be composed of main card fights from both UFC and Bellator events. Main card fights and selected preliminary fights will be selected for PFL MMA. Dana White’s Contender Series will be composed of the full fight card.

The WINNER of staff picks in 2021 will have a choice between receiving a custom-made championship belt from ProAmBelts or chain from Championship Chains. For the third straight year, Michael DeSantis captured the 2020 victory compiling a record of 201-88.
