Bare-knuckle MMA makes its second appearance tonight with Gamebred Fighting Championship 2. Owned and promoted by none other than “Gamebred” himself, Jorge Masvidal, Gamebred Fighting Championship’s sophomore outing will be live from the Biloxi Community Center in Biloxi, Mississippi.
The main event comes at heavyweight, as UFC and PFL veteran “The Spartan” Alex Nicholson fights MMA journeyman Jonathan Ivey. Florida’s Nicholson is sporting a 14-9 record going into this fight, most recently going 3-4 across the 2018 and 2019 PFL seasons. Tennessee’s 45 year old “Leg Lock Monster” Ivey will be making his 100th walk to the cage tonight, last fighting in 2018 in a losing effort which brought his record to 41-57 with one no-contest.
In the co-main event, two longtime MMA veterans square off at featherweight as UFC vet “The Saint” Rob Emerson fights fan-favorite Pride veteran “Felony” Charles Bennett. Bennett has lost sixteen combat sports outings in a row, including most recently in the headliner of Gamebred Fighting Championship 1. Emerson, meanwhile, has lost three in a row, last competing for the ACA promotion in 2019.
Two excellent women’s matchups will also take place at Gamebred Fighting Championship 2. Rizin and Bellator vet “The CrAsian” Andy Nguyen and former Glory kickboxer “Bear” Crystal Lawson got into it at the weigh-ins yesterday, and the bad blood will boil over in the cage tonight. Alan Belcher-trained “Phenomamom” Monica Medina sports a 3-4 record, although three of her four losses have come against UFC fighters Victoria Leonardo, Tracy Cortez, and Gillian Robertson. She will face Jairzinho Rozenstruik-trained “Fight Queen” Isis Verbeek, who has won three fights in a row under the Combate Global and iKON banners after dropping her professional debut with Invicta FC.
