His first competition under the team came this past Wednesday evening at Who’s Number One and he came out victorious. In fact, he earned his own patented heel hook, the Mikey Lock very quickly against Richard Alarcon. This victory earned him the Who’s Number One bantamweight championship.

No word as to what made Musumeci choose PFS, but so far, it looks as if he’s made the right choice. He will be under the tutelege of head coach Heath Pedigo. At 18, Musumeci was awarded his black belt in a joint effort from Jonatas Gurgel and Gilbert Burns. He and his sister trained under the CTA and Caio Terra banner for some time but left officially in early 2020.
After a stellar run in the gi, which included, IBJJF World Champion (2017 / 2018 / 2019), IBJJF Pan Championship (2016), IBJJF European Open (2017 / 2020), Abu Dhabi World Pro (2017) and more, Musumeci has moved over to prove his worth in the world of no-gi.
He has definitely proved his worth under the Who’s Number One banner winning against Marcelo Cohen, Lucas Pinheiro, Junny Ocasio and most recently Alarcon.
Look out for more from Musumeci not only on the professional grappling scene, but also on the PFS YouTube page.
