It looks like Scott Coker has an opponent for Cris Cyborgs next Bellator Women’s Featherweight title defense, the UFC veteran, Cat Zingano

In his interview with MMA Junkie, Coker said that he is planning to bring back Cyborg in the first few months of 2022. The main issue is that there aren’t many opponents left to challenge Cyborg for her title, so it makes Zingano’s request for a title shot more likely to be fulfilled. Bellator is planning on holding multiple events starting in February through March and April, so it’s only a matter of working out the details to get this fight done within this year.

‘Alpha’ has a 12 – 4 professional MMA record and defeated notable names as Raquel Pennington, Miesha Tate and Amanda Nunes and this three-fight winning streak led her to a UFC Women’s Bantamweight title fight against then reigning champion, Ronda Rousey. She lost the fight in 14 seconds when Rousey submitted her by an armbar. After that, she lost three of her four fights and left the UFC at the end of 2018. She debuted in Bellator on September 11th, 2020 when she defeated Gabby Holloway by unanimous decision. She continued her winning ways by defeating Olivia Parker at Bellator 256 by an armbar making her unbeaten in promotion’s circular cage.

Cyborg joined Bellator in January 2020 and since then she has been wrecking her opponents, stacking up an impressive 25 – 2 – 1 professional MMA record. What’s more, she has lost only once in the past 15 years and it happened at UFC 232 when she was knocked out by Nunes and lost her UFC Women’s Featherweight title. The Brazilian is considered the best female fighter in history, as she held titles in Strikeforce, Invicta, UFC and now is reigning Bellator Women’s Featherweight champion. As a Bellator competitor, she’s unbeaten and won all of her four fights, three of them being title defences, before the final bell.

If this fight was to happen it would be Zingano’s toughest test of her career, but for Cyborg it would be one of the last stops before crossing the finish line and ending her career as Woman’s MMA GOAT.
