Despite some changes, the kickboxing featherweight grand prix semifinals will be center stage at ONE Championship. A full fight card featuring ten fights lies ahead featuring fighters from around the globe. Stay tuned for live ONE Only the Brave results here at MMA Sucka.
Main and Co-Main: Kickboxing Grand Prix Semi-Finals
In the main event, Thailand’s “Killer Kid” Sittichai – the number three ranked featherweight in ONE Kickboxing – takes on the dark horse of the bracket, Davit Kiria of Georgia. After getting winning the quarterfinal matchup by split decision, Sittichai would love to win the Grand Prix and earn a second crack at the champion, Superbon. It would be the fourth time overall the two have fought, with Superbon ahead 2-1. Kiria is somewhat new to ONE Championship, but is confident that his first round TKO in the quarterfinals was evidence of what’s yet to come in the ONE circle.
The second semi-final matchup takes the co-main event slot, with Thailand’s “Smokin” Jo Nattawut fighting Chingiz Allazov of Belarus. Nattawut replaces Marat Grigorian against Allazov, moving up from an alternate bout. His opponent, Allazov, knocked out Samy Sana in the quarterfinals with a swift head kick and body punch just seconds into the fight.
Rest of the Card
There’s talent from top to bottom of the card, as exciting MMA flyweight Jarred Brooks looks to create win streak in ONE when he takes on Hiroba Minowa. A duo of Chinese MMA fighters at the top of their divisions look to steal the show. And in a battle of elite Asian welterweights, Zhang Lipeng fights the stalwart Ruslan Emilbek Uluu, who has a penchant for taking out top Chinese MMA fighters.
