In the midst of the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine, there are changes being made in the Polish MMA landscape, as the Shocker MMA management group announced that their fighters are terminating their long-term ACA contracts.

 Yesterday Artur Ostaszewski, the boss of the promotional group announced via Twitter that Shocker MMA condemns the aggression of Russia toward Ukraine and so their fighters no longer will be a part of ACA roster.

This means that Łukasz Kopera, Daniel Omielańczuk, and Piotr Strus, who still were under a contract with ACA – a promotion run by Mairbek Khasiev, who has a connection to a Checnian leader, Ramzan Kadyrov, are no longer associated with the organization.

The statement reads as below::

Due to the military aggression of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, which we condemn – we decided not to take part in sports events organized by Absolut Championship Akhmat and to terminate the contracts of all players representing our Team, so far bound by a long-term contract with the Russian promoter, i.e. Piotr Strus, Łukasz Kopera, Daniel Omielańczuk. At the same time, we would like to emphasize that all ACA employees have always treated us with the utmost respect, understanding and willingness to help, and the mere participation in ACA sports events was an honor and a great sports adventure for us. However, in the current situation, we cannot imagine continuing the launches in the territory and for organizations from the Russian Federation or Belarus. We wish all the inhabitants of Ukraine, fans and players peace on our eastern border and a return to normalcy, also in sports. #NoWar
