Junior dos Santos amongst new Eagle FC signings

Eagle FC continues its signing offensive after acquiring the services of such fighters as Rashad Evans, Renan Barao, Kevin Lee, and Antonio Silva their roster ranks were strengthened by the former UFC Heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos

The signing was reported by Ag Fight, which also delivered information about JDS facing Yorgan de Castro in his promotional debut on May 20th. The fight will serve as the main attraction of the evening.

Junior Dos Santos, who sports a 21 – 9 Professional MMA record lost his last four fights by a knockout to Ciryl Gane, Jairzinho Rozenstruik, Curtis Blaydes, and current UFC Heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou. His last win came in March 2019 when he knocked out Derrick Lewis. Dos Santos was scheduled to take part in the second Triad Combat boxing event on February 26, but the event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

After his release from UFC, ‘Cigano’ made a short-time transition to professional wrestling as a part of the American Top Team contingent invading AEW. He took part in multi-man tag team matches on Rampage and Full Gear 2021 PPV and was praised for his performance in the ring. 

De Castro made his Eagle FC debut on January 28th, when he submitted Shaun Asher and now has an 8 – 3 MMA record. This was his second win in a row after the UFC release, which came after a three-fight losing streak. He was bested by Jarjis Danho, Carlos Felipe and Greg Hardy

Hecotr Lombard vs. Thiago Silva

In the co-main event, fans will see another pair of familiar faces as former Bellator middleweight champion Hector Lombard and former UFC light heavyweight competitor Thiago Silva will square off in Lombard’s first MMA fight since 2018. 

Lombard found himself in midst of a six-fight losing streak that began back in 2014. His last victory came by defeating former Strikeforce champion, Jake Shields. After being released by the UFC, Lombard entered BKFC, where he stacked up a 3 – 1 record. 

Leaving an MMA competition in 2019 on a two-fight losing streak Silva will look to start a new chapter of his career in Eagle FC. In those two aforementioned fights, the Brazilian fighter suffered losses to Martin Zawada and Ivan Shtyrkov. His last victory came in October 2018, when he defeated James McSweeney via unanimous decision.
