B2 Fighting Series 154 is set to take place this Saturday night at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, Michigan. This card will have six amateur fights on it including a middleweight title fight between Robert Grigsby and Ty Wildmo. B2 Fighting Series 154 will also have four professional fights on the card with the main event being a light heavyweight title fight between UFC alum, Dequan Townsend and B2 FS Light Heavyweight champion, Jason Butcher.

A Look at B2 Fighting Series 154

The Main Event

Jason Butcher won the B2 FS light heavyweight title with a submission victory over Gabriel Mota in his most recent fight. Before that fight, his last MMA fight was at PFL 7 in 2018 when he was knocked out by Emiliano Sordi. Butcher has an overall record of 13-4 with every one of his wins being finishes. Seven of those wins were by submission and the other six by knockout. He comes into this fight ranked number 1 in the state of Kentucky for light heavyweights and number 13 in the United States.

Dequan Townsend is 1-0 since being released from the UFC. He won his last fight by decision against Portland Pringle III in February. While he was with the UFC, Townsend went 0-4 losing to Dalcha Lungiambula, Bevon Lewis, Devin Clark, and Dusko Todorovic. Townsend has an overall record of 22-12 with 12 of his wins being by knockout and five of them being by submission. Nine of his 12 losses come by submission and he has only been knocked out twice in his professional career. He comes into this fight the same height as his opponent although he has a four-inch reach advantage.

Amateur Title Fight

The B2 Fighting Series Amateur Middleweight title will be decided on this card when two B2 FS veterans square off. Ty Wildmo has an amateur record of 5-1 and won his most recent fight with a knockout over Austin Striggle at B2 Fighting Series 144. He has finished 100% of his victories with his only loss being a decision loss to Miles Lee at CFFC 78. Wildmo is currently the number one ranked amateur middleweight in the state of Michigan. His opponent, Robert Grigsby is 4-7 in his amateur career and he is 1-3 in B2 Fighting Series. Grigsby is ranked number four in Indiana for amateur light heavyweights. He is currently on a two-fight losing streak and badly needs a win this weekend against Wildmo.

Poster Fight

B2 Fighting Series released the poster for the event this weekend. On the cover of that poster were two young bantamweight women by the names of Dayna Kalasz and Cierra Buxton. Buxton has a professional record of 1-0 as she won her last fight with a knockout over Delena Duong. She is the pound-for-pound eighth-ranked woman in the state of Ohio. Her opponent, Dayna Kalasz has a professional record of 2-1 with her only loss being a decision loss to Danielle Wynn. It has been over a year since her last fight which she won by decision over Aleaha Shepherd at True Revelation 42. Kalasz is ranked number 84 in the women’s pound for pound list in the southeastern United States.

My name is Michael Lynch. I’m originally from Long Island, NY, but I reside in Columbia, Sc. I’ve been covering MMA for almost two years now. I’ve covered events such as Island fights and the PFL. I also have a YouTube channel where I do fight companions and UFC fight previews. I have recently started to train in mma and would like to have my first fight in 2020. I believe that as a journalist I need to experience what these fighters go threw, in order to understand their POV.
