Following their historic 10th-anniversary spectacular, ONE Championship returns on Friday, April 22, with a double main event to keep their momentum rolling.
The two main event title collisions were revealed during ONE X.
ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Champion Regian Eersel will defend his title for the fourth time in the main event against Germany’s Arian Sadikovic.
Sadikovic impressed in his ONE debut at ONE: Winter Warriors II against former title challenger Mustapha Haida. The German kickboxer got stronger as the match went on as he worked over Haida’s body. Following the unanimous decision victory, Sadikovic jumped into prime position to challenge Eersel.
The Suriname-born striker has been virtually flawless as of late though.
Eersel is unbeaten in nearly six years and has been dominant since jumping onto the global stage with wins over Anthony Njokuani, Islam Murtazaev, Mustapha Haida, and Nieky Holzken. The unquestioned best lightweight in the world is ready to prove it once more against his latest challenge.
In the co-main event, the inaugural ONE Women’s Strawweight Muay Thai World Championship will be up for grabs when Sweden’s Smilla Sundell takes on Jackie Buntan.
The teenage star shined in her ONE debut by ousting Diandra Martin with punishing blows from every angle.
As impressive as the Fairtex Gym trainee’s debut was, Buntan has been even more impressive. The American burst onto the scene against Wondergirl Fairtex and nearly finished the match in the first round. She followed that performance up with commanding victories over Ekaterina Vandaryeva and Daniela Lopez.
Also officially announced for the card will be a submission grappling catchweight contest between legendary leglock master Masakazu Imanari and rising BJJ star Mikey Musumeci.
The event is already shaping up to be an incredible return for ONE, as their 2022 continues to deliver exciting martial arts action.
Eersel vs. Sadikovic will air on Friday, April 22, at 6:00 a.m. ET/3:00 a.m. PT on watch.onefc.com.
