ONE Championship announced its landmark five-year broadcast deal with Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service  and the athletes of the company have been reacting to the news.

The deal marks a major step for the promotion as it will air 12 live events per year in U.S. primetime on the platform, with an announcement of the first event later in 2022. As their global reach and engagement metrics put them inside the top five of all global sports properties, per Neilsen, this move is another home run for the promotion.

ONE Athletes React to Move to Prime Video

Atomweight Bi Nguyen was thrilled with the announcement. Before her Instagram post cut to the promotional video for the announcement, she said it was good news for all of her fans who had been waking up during the early morning hours to catch her bouts.

Another athlete chiming in was Sage Northcutt.

The American has been out of action since his ONE debut but is eager to step inside the Circle when Prime Video begins airing events.

“This is going to be awesome! I can’t wait to fight on Prime Video,” wrote Northcutt.

ONE Featherweight World Champion Thanh Le was also ecstatic about the news.

This is undoubtedly massive news for the entire industry. ONE has been delivering extraordinary martial arts events and has showcased a diverse slate of action with kickboxing, Muay Thai, mixed martial arts, and submission grappling matches.

A whole new group of sports fans will be introduced to the organization when ONE steps foot into Prime Video later this year. Amazon getting into the martial arts space is significant and exciting for ONE and all.
