The UFC 274 co-main event could have gone one of two ways — fireworks or utter boredom and unfortunately we got the latter.

Carla Esparza cruised to a split decision victory, taking the UFC women’s strawweight championship from Rose Namajunas. The amount of inactivity in the fight was unbelievable.

The former strawweight champion and number 5 ranked woman, Jessica Andrade had some serious words for the newly crowned champion.

Jessica Andrade Calls UFC 274 Co-Main Event Winner ‘Champion of Boredom’

“I take advantage that you didn’t block me on twitter,” Andrade said. “I want to say that your fight yesterday was the worst in strawweight history, champion of boredom, I can’t wait to rip your head off. congratulations on the boredom belt, but fans of this sport want to see a massacre,I’ll do!”

Andrade (23-9) is currently riding a two-fight winning streak. After a stint at flyweight, the 30-year-old made a return to strawweight in her most recent outing. She won ‘Performance of the Night’ honors in that fight, as she pulled off a first-round standing arm-triangle choke against Amanda Lemos.

Esparza (19-6) has won six in a row, with five of those fights going to the judges’ scorecards. Three split decisions, one majority decision, one unanimous and one TKO on the six-fight run.

Both Esparza and Andrade have been in this sport for many years and have never crossed paths. This could happen sooner rather than later.
