British Columbia’s own Tristan Connelly will return to fight in front of his hometown crowd at BFL 74. The former UFC lightweight will step back inside the Battlefield cage on October 12.

Connelly (14-8) was signed by the UFC after riding a four-fight winning streak on the regional scene. ‘Boondock’ was brought in to fight Michel Pereira on short notice at UFC on ESPN+ 16 in Vancouver. The last-minute replacement fight was up a weight class against a very dangerous opponent and Connelly shocked the world. The Pinnacle MMA fighter earned ‘Fight of the Night’ honors for the bout, and also took home Pereira’s share of the bonus, as the Brazilian missed weight.

After that victory, the 36-year-old lost back-to-back fights, against Pat Sabatini and Darren Elkins. Both were decision losses and absolute wars.

Connelly will return to his roots at BFL 74, as he has fought three times under the Battlefield lights previously.

He is 2-1 under the BFL banner, winning against Shawn Albrecht and Ash Mashreghi, with his loss coming at the hands of Mario Pereira.

The opponent for the fight has not been disclosed yet, but keep it locked to BFL’s Instagram page for news on that in the coming days or weeks.

BFL 74 goes down on October 12 from the Harbour Event Centre in downtown Vancouver and if you can’t be there in person, you can catch the action live on UFC Fight Pass.
