33-year-old World Boxing Council heavyweight champion Tyson Fury had given fans some strong indications that he would be hanging up his gloves following his knockout victory over Dillian Whyte in front of a 94,000 strong crowd at Wembley Stadium back in April, but in a recent interview he hinted that something big could be on the cards in the more near future stating that he was planning for ‘something big’ to happen, adding, ‘we’ve exciting news coming.’

There was also a tentative hint that he could return to the boxing ring to face the eventual winner of the upcoming Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk fight – if the right price was offered – however, that specific powerplay scenario was not yet on the cards at Sports betting canada as a direct option.

Having agreed to an interview with Queensberry Promotions on Tuesday, they asked the inevitable question as to whether he would return to the ring at some point in the future.

“100%. Just like in the movie when Jerry Maguire shouted ‘Show Me The Money!.”

With Fury’s promoter, Frank Warren, revealing recently that he had been talking to the British boxer about a return, it seemed that exhibition bouts were the most likely option for the foreseeable future and there had even been talk of a possible crossover fight against UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.

“Me and Frank has something spectacular coming but it does not involve Usyk or Joshua, at this moment. I will make a decision on all this but I have only just fought three months ago. I would not be expected to fight until October, November, December anyway. But because I have said I am retiring everyone is on me. ‘Are you really retired? Have a couple more fights’ – every single day.”

Having referenced four world heavyweight belt holder Usyk and Joshua, when pressed on that particular point, Fury conceded that this potential option was not in his immediate plans, but equally, he was not willing to rule it out at a future date as obviously with 33 unbeaten bouts under his name, a full retirement would mean he would miss out on the opportunity to fight for the undisputed crown, and the chance and opportunity that would provide him with in terms of cementing his status as one of, if not, Britain’s greatest every heavyweight.

For this to come onto the table though, he admitted that money would be a decider.

“What I would say to the people who want this fight to happen is: you better have a big cheque book. Because to bring the big GK (Gypsy King) out of retirement to redeem this country – yet again – it’s going to cost. I am a prize fighter and I do fight for prizes, but it is going to cost if you want me to do a mission on this middleweight and show what a real heavyweight does to them. And that will be expensive, they will need deep pockets and then we can talk.”

Fury’s fans will certainly have one question after that interview – if the ‘something big’ is not related to Usyk or Joshua – just what is on his mind?
