Miranda Maverick Calls Out Molly McCann After UFC London Win

Up-and-coming scrapper, Miranda Maverick has called out the woman of the moment, Molly McCann, off the back of McCann’s emphatic knockout at UFC London this past weekend. There is no doubt that McCann, alongside her teammate Paddy Pimblett stole all the headlines this weekend and it appears that Maverick wants a piece of the action.

Molly McCann vs. Miranda Maverick

We gave you three ideas as to who Molly McCann could face next, however, we didn’t include Maverick in the list. Despite this, it is a fight that could make sense for both women. Neither woman is currently ranked, however, both are enjoying a decent run of form. McCann is 3-0 since dropping two straight. Bursting onto the UFC scene with a finish and a dominant performance over Gillian Robertson, Maverick dropped two on the bounce, firstly against Maycee Barber, followed by a shutout at the hands of Erin Blanchfield. She has since returned to submit Sabina Mazo in March.

Strangely, despite calling our McCann on Twitter, Maverick has a fight booked next month. She takes on 8-4 Shanna Young at UFC 278. Let’s hope that Maverick isn’t looking too far in McCann’s direction and focussing on her upcoming bout.

Would Molly McCann take the fight?

A potential Miranda Maverick fight is a good fight for Molly McCann. She stated at the post-fight press conference that she’s willing to fight anyone, anytime, anywhere and will certainly travel to do so. In just nine UFC bouts, the scouse queen has already competed in six different arenas across the globe.

It all depends how Maverick looks next month, however. If she puts on a show, dominates and finished Young and manages to get on the mic to call McCann out, it could easily lead to a fight between the two.

McCann needs to fight at MSG next and the annual MSG card is scheduled for November 12th. If Maverick can get through her scheduled bout with no injuries, this timeframe could work out.
