The rematch between former TUF season 23 competitor, Cory Hendricks and CageWarriors veteran, Marthin Hamlet is set to take place at PFL 7 on August 5th. The two met last year when Hendricks scored the comeback win. Having been dropped in the first round and had his attacks nullified in the second, Hendricks dominated in the third round and finished things via rear-naked choke.
PFL 7 is headlined by another rematch between Anthony Pettis and Stevie Ray. Ray finished Pettis via modified twister in June in a huge upset. Elsewhere, Omari Akhmedov and Josh Silveira clash in the co-main event, Rob Wilkinson takes on Brazillian, Delan Monte and Alex Martinez looks to continue his winning run when he takes on Olivier Aubin-Mercier.
MMASucka spoke to Cory Hendricks and got his insight on his upcoming rematch.

Hendricks Returns at PFL 7
Cory Hendricks is coming off the biggest win of his career last time out, something that he himself said, “I guess it has to be, it’s the first former champion I’ve fought”. Hendricks also said, “He won PFL before. Performance wise, it was one of my better performances too. I finished the guy in two rounds and got hit twice the whole fight and neither of them were actually significant“.
Taking on Hamlet in the rematch, the TUF veteran said that his training hasn’t changed, despite this fight being the first rematch of his career. “It’s basically the same as my first training camp for him you know, I know what he’s looking to do“. He also believes that Hamlet “hasn’t drastically changed his style, it’s not like he switched it up and is now a karate guy” ahead of their New York clash.
When speaking to MMASucka, Cory Hendricks said that he’ll be keeping an eye on the fellow light heavyweight bouts that take place on the same card. The remainder of the light heavyweight bracket can be seen here:
