ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nong-O Gaiyanghadao will get to step into the spotlight in U.S. primetime on August 26 when ONE Championship debuts on Prime Video.

Nong-O Plans To Elevate Muay Thai In America

At ONE on Prime Video 1: Moraes vs. Johnson II, Nong-O takes the co-main event slot against Liam Harrison in what could be an all-out war the Western audience will get to enjoy as they continue to discover ONE’s Muay Thai in four-ounce gloves.

And the Thai legend is making sure he is on point for the title defense as Harrison gained a lot of fans with his exciting victory over Muangthai PK. Saenchai earlier this year.

“Yes, he really has a good momentum now. He is now riding on a multi-fight winning streak. He is completely filled with confidence,” said Nong-O.

“But throughout his winning streak, he has never fought a true Muay Thai fighter like me before. And this time, he will find out what the real challenge is. I don’t care how much momentum he built. I’m not afraid of him at all. I’ll stop his momentum.”

The claim may sound like typical pre-match talk, but Nong-O is unbeaten in the organization.

Nong-O moved to Singapore in 2015 and came out of retirement in 2018 to join ONE. Now his second home feels like his good luck charm.

“Yes, fighting in Singapore is another one of my advantages. Because I feel like I’m fighting in my hometown. I have many students rooting for me, and I’m used to everything that happens here in the stadium. So, I feel so comfortable to fight here in Singapore,” said Nong-O.

Although confident ahead of the title tilt, Nong-O is not overlooking his British opponent. Harrison is one of his favorite athletes to watch compete, so he knows the power that he possesses when the Circle door shuts.

And with knowledge of how Harrison dedicates himself to his craft, the Thai star is locked in ahead of ONE on Prime Video 1.

“Liam is committed to learning Muay Thai. I’ve learned that every time he has a fight program, he will fly to Thailand to learn and practice more Muay Thai techniques. So, I think he can climb to this point. That’s because of his great efforts,” said the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion.

But retaining his gold is not the only thing on Nong-O’s mind. On August 26, the reigning bantamweight king wants to continue to drive the sport of Muay Thai to the mainstream on a massive streaming platform.

Nong-O wants to put on a show and engage the American audience. As such, he expects an emphatic ending to his latest title defense.

“I am very excited to show my Muay Thai skills to the American and hundreds of millions of viewers. I will do my best to live up to my fans’ expectations. I want to win by knockout in front of the American combat sports fans,” said Nong-O.

ONE on Prime Video 1: Moraes vs. Johnson II airs live on Prime Video on Friday, August 26, at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
