ONE on Prime Video 2 has its main event for September 30. And fans will be treated to a trilogy bout of one of the organization’s most hotly contested rivalries.
ONE Atomweight World Champion Angela Lee will once again try to dethrone ONE Strawweight World Champion Xiong Jing Nan to become the next ONE Championship two-division World Champion.
The two first met at ONE: A New Era in March 2019. Lee showed herself well in the strawweight clash and nearly grabbed a submission win in the fourth round. However, Xiong’s power came in handy when she needed it most.
“The Panda” walked down a tired Lee and continuously threw heaters. Once she went to the body, Lee backed to the Circle Wall. A flurry of shots came, and the referee had to step in to make the call.
In October 2019, the Chinese superstar moved down to atomweight for her chance at double-division gold.
The back-and-forth action continued in their second meeting, but it was Lee who would come away with the fifth-round finish this time. With just 12 seconds left on the clock, “Unstoppable” retained her atomweight crown with a rear-naked choke.
With both women controlling their respective divisions with an iron fist, their paths were bound to cross again. And for the third meeting, Lee is the one moving divisions to chase history.
The two champions will go at it once again and show the world the splendor of their incredible rivalry.
