Cody Linne on LFA 145: “I have completely evolved”

The regional MMA scene is where competitors develop their  skills and come into their own. It is also the place where competitors sink or swim. The competitive depths deepen from the shallows to the deep. For Cody Linne, LFA 145 is his chance to once again dive into the deep end.

The CodeBreaker on the Come Up

Cody “The CodeBreaker” Linne has kept a busy schedule in 2022. Linne started the year by entering the cage at LFA 123 in February where he fell short in a decision loss against Kevin Fernandez.

After the loss, Linne went back to the drawing board at Rothwell MMA with his head coach Ben Rothwell. Linne amped up his training and began training with world-class MMA gym Valle Flow Striking. Linne told MMASucka,” I took a couple months off and worked a lot of my training, better strength and conditioning, starting working with a sports nutritionist, and added training at VFS! After my loss in LFA I have completely evolved… I am physically feeling amazing and in the greatest shape of my life!”

A Familiar Foe

At LFA 145, Cody Linne will do battle with Payton Brezinski. Although these men have never stepped into the cage together, Linne and Brezinski share a similar path. Brezinski also competed at LFA 123, falling short in a unanimous decision loss.

Prior to LFA 123, both men found their way to XFC tryouts in Michigan, where both men landed fights. Linne told MMASucka, “I did know of Payton [Brezinski] before then [LFA 123]  because we both were at the XFC tryouts in Michigan, he also called me out after one of my wins in XFC…”

A familiar foe with a similar past will certainly prove to provide an interesting clash.

A Rebound Victory and a Vision for the Future

After six months of reworking his game, Linne jumped back into competition at Pure FC. Linne told MMASucka, “…really my gameplan has been an overall evolution of myself, inside and outside of the gym.”

In August, Linne steamrolled Dan Sokolowski at Pure FC 24, earning a submission victory via guillotine choke before the bell of round one.

Linne attributes this success to head coach Ben Rothwell and his newly acquired training regimen. “I would like to give a shout out to Ben Rothwell for guiding me and keeping close attention to me especially [over] this last 8 months since my last loss. As well as  all the help I have gotten from my strength and conditioning coach Nelsinho Machado! My wrestling coach Calyn Hull, my teammates from Rothwell MMA, my teammates from VFS as well as Mike Valle!”

As LFA 145 approaches, “The CodeBreaker” has his eyes set on even deeper waters. When looking to the future, Linne stated, “My goals for the rest of this year are to have one more fight and then start preparing for my breakthrough in 2023! I truly believe I will be on the doorstep of the UFC next year.”

Cody Linne will fight at LFA 145 on October 21st. It will be available to watch on UFC Fight Pass.
