Of course, the opposite side of the coin here is true as well. There are certain figures within the combat sports community that fight fans, well, simply can not stand. On the cusp of an incredible night of fights at APFC 4, Anthony Pettis Fighting Championship has announced its next event with APFC 5-Milwaukee Fight Night 2. The event, which is to take place on June 11th, will see a collision of flyweight prospects Cody Linne and Dan Moriarty. Bellator MMA hosts its second event in as many days with Bellator 295. In the main card, fans will see the culmination of the incredible Bellator Bantamweight World Grand Prix when interim champion Raufeon Stots takes on the incredibly game Patchy Mix. The winner of the main event will walk away with glory, the interim bantamweight title, and a check for $1 million.
The U.S. Midwest has seen an exponential amount of growth of interest in combat sports throughout the last few years. Since 2022, major MMA promotions like Legacy Fighting Alliance and Bellator have held events throughout the region and regional combat sports promotions seemingly hold an event each month.
APFC 4 was shaping to be the biggest event to date for Anthony Pettis's newly formed MMA promotion. Austin Bashi, a highly touted prospect bound for UFC competition, was set to face Diego Manzur for the inaugural APFC bantamweight title on April 23rd. However, not only is fireworks-to-be fight now scrapped, the event has lost both athletes altogether.
