Stephen Loman is on an incredible 10-bout win streak that has led him to be one of the top contenders in ONE Championship’s loaded bantamweight division. The fast-rising Filipino returns at ONE on Prime Video 4: Abbasov vs. Lee on Friday, November 18, for his biggest test to date. He will meet former divisional king Bibiano Fernandes in a critical contender’s contest on the main card.

For the Team Lakay star, this is a difficult matchup that could yield two key results. First, it is about gaining respect. To knock off Fernandes, universally heralded across the martial arts field, would push him into those same discussions. Having devoured tape on the Brazilian icon, Loman is ready to take that next step up the ladder.

“I really need to win against Bibiano first because we know that he’s not just an ordinary fighter. I also need to sharpen my techniques because I see that they [ranked opponents] have their own strengths and weaknesses. But if I get a win over Bibiano, I will prove that my skills are on par with his level already.,” said Loman.

Although Fernandes is 42 years old, Loman still sees the same athletic explosiveness in his game. The Filipino does not take the matchup for granted or believe he will see a diminished opponent inside the Circle. For Loman, he is preparing to get the best Fernandes possible.

Having broken down the game of “The Flash,” Loman has his tendencies in mind. The steady increase in competition has “The Sniper” excited for his huge opportunity on Prime Video. Already looking toward a possible title shot, Loman is ready to shut down Fernandes and shine to state his case with a stand-up war.

“I expect that he will be trying to keep it on the feet first, then he will use that to set up his takedown, which he usually does to his opponents. So I expect that he will try to take the fight to the ground, but if I can assert my game, it will be a striking battle,” said Loman.

“I believe that winning this will give me a chance to contend for a World Title in ONE, which would be another goal to reach. I’m determined to face all these ranked opponents so that I can prove myself worthy to challenge for that World Championship.”

ONE on Prime Video 4: Abbasov vs. Lee airs live and free on Friday, November 18, to all U.S. and Canadian Amazon Prime subscribers. The action begins at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
