LFA returns tonight with an event at the WinnaVegas Casino in Sloan, Iowa. LFA 147 is headlined by a very entertaining bout between two action fighters who are sure to provide more offense than the Iowa Hawkeyes have this football season.
Junior Melo (12-5) faces off against fellow Brazillian Melquizael Costa (18-5), both men have just one loss in their last 15 fights combined. Melo is coming off back-to-back wins by knockout, both under the LFA banner, after suffering a loss in his lone fight of 2021. In his 17 combined MMA bouts, Melo has gone to the scorecards just twice. His kill-or-be-killed approach will be a perfect matchup with Costa.
His fellow Brazilian Melquizael Costa is also on a hot streak of his own heading into LFA 147. Costa has won six of his last seven, including winning by stoppage on four of those occasions. Melo and Costa both enjoy standing with their opponents so whoever has the ground advantage may have a better chance in this, that would be Costa.
Now that the #LFA147 weigh-in is in the books, which fight are you looking forward to most?

Several other up-and-comers riddle the card, including the younger sister of recently-crowned UFC middleweight champion Alex Pereira, fellow former Glory kickboxer Aline Pereira, who will make her professional MMA debut against recent TUF 30 competitor and former BKFC champion Helen Peralta. Also on the card are bantamweight bouts between prospects in Justin Wetzell vs. Rafael do Nascimento in the co-main event and Askar Askar vs. Rickey Furar just before that. Welterweight Haris Talundzic will try to rebound from his first career loss as well when he takes on Combate Global and FAC veteran Omoyele Gonzalez.
LFA 147’s main card can be found on UFC Fight Pass starting at 10 pm EST/7 pm PST.
