Mixed martial arts, MMA, cage fighting, or NHB is a full-contact combat sport that grabs the attention of its fans with speed, suddenness, and often violence. MMA fighters get seven-figure salaries and become faces of international advertising campaigns. Famous brands like VegasKings casino often attract celebrities and they significantly increase sales!

One of these stars is Aljamain Sterling, a UFC Bantamweight Champion who has already defended his title twice. He is at the peak of his career and is expecting to be paid correspondingly.

Aljamain is now a free agent

Aljamain has accounts on YouTube, Instagram, and Twitter, and owns a merchandise store where anyone can purchase branded t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, hats, and other outfit items. Recently, he went live on his YouTube and told the audience about his plans for his future career.

He worked really hard to make a name in the MMA world: fights, advertising campaigns, and successful channels on social media made him talk about a possible change in the management team. Aljamain says that he is not satisfied with the way his managers have been working. Especially when it comes to negotiating and a 10% fee. Sterling thinks that it is a rather old-fashioned way to lead a business and that something should be changed.

He has contracts with the VaynerSports agency, a company owned by Gary Vaynerchuk and AJ. They already represent MMA, baseball, and football stars but Aljamain still thinks that he is underestimated in VaynerSports and wants to represent himself on his own.

In the YouTube video, Sterling says that he is not trying to teach others how to do their job but he is still rather upset with the way how the agency is treating him. Aljamain claims that MMA athletes train and fight very hard and need to be paid correspondingly. And, by the way, this is a common problem in the MMA world because many retired fighters, as well as former agents, say that there are a lot of problems within the industry that need to be solved. So now, Aljamain is a free agent and is very positive about representing himself on his own terms and earning as much as he deserves.
