Legacy Fighting Alliance returns to the Midwest to host LFA 153: Mariscal vs Faria at the Horseshoe Hammond Casino in Hammond, Indiana. With 8 fights lined up for the evening LFA is sure to deliver a fun night of fights to start the weekend of right.
The main event of the evening is sure to deliver when Elevation Fight Team’s Jose “Chepe” Mariscal (12-6) squares off against muay Thai specialist Guilherme Faria (18-9). Chepe’s accomplishment across all combat sports have been nothing but impressive. Whether it’s his IMMAF National and World Titles or even the purple belt he recently earned, Mariscal has had quite career and he is only 30 years old. He’s also fought against several notable UFC fighters such as Bryce Mitchell, Pat Sabatini, and Gregor Gillespie. Coming off two finishes his last time out, Jose looks to add to that momentum and make up for his unfortunate weight miss yesterday morning. Faria has had plenty of fight experience himself fighting the likes of Júnior Assunção, Andre Soukhamthath and Jamaal Emmers. After finishing Zach Zane in a welterweight matchup early last year, Faria successfully made it all the way back down to featherweight and looks to maintain the explosive power he showcased before. This action-packed main event will be sure to deliver as both fighters strive to reach to big stage.
The co-main slot features a welterweight bout between Bahromjon Mashrapov (6-2) and Logan Urban (6-1). Mashrapov is coming off a great win where he landed a beautiful right hand to knock his opponent out in the first round. Now in his LFA debut, Mashrapov intends to make the most of his moment and but his home country of Uzbekistan on the map in this penultimate bout. Urban on the other hand is fighting much closer to home, hailing from Cleveland, Ohio. After an unfortunate outcome in his Contender Series shot, Urban bounced back with a big win in his LFA debut last year. With a last minute switch up on the cards, both fighters plan to make the most out of this opportunity to fight in the co-main event.
There are plenty of other fighter to watch out for has they make their return to LFA tonight. Ahmad Suhail Hassanzada (9-2) returns after a tough outing in his most recent fight on Dana White’s Contender Series. He takes on Josh Streacker (8-5) who also looks to rebound after losing to a former UFC fighter in Dakota Bush. Strawweight prospects Rachel Martinez (1-0) and Alandria Brown (2-1) are matched up and ready to capitalize on their recent performances with the promotion.
