UAE Warriors reaches the midpoint of its three-event weekend today with UAE Warriors 36, going down live from the Jiu-Jitsu Arena in Abu Dhabi.

The main event will have the lightweight title on the line, as champion Bruno Machado defends his title against Yun Jae Jung. Although Machado has not competed in MMA in over two years, Machado did compete against UFC legend Anderson Silva in an exhibition boxing match last May. Making the return to MMA, “Caveira” Machado is riding a six-fight winning streak, including wins over UFC veterans Mickael Lebout and Mike Santiago at UAE Warriors 15 and UAE Warriors 12 respectively. Jung, meanwhile, makes his promotional debut on short notice having won three of his last five.

Former PFL light heavyweight tournament champion Emiliano Sordi fights in the co-main event against Kazakhstan’s Asylzhan Bakhytzhanuly. Since running the table and winning $1 million in 2019, Sordi has only won one fight in his last five outings, including three straight losses. The Argentinian “He-Man” will look to right the ship against “Sak” Bakhytzhanuly, who last competed for the promotion at UAE Warriors 33 and earned a submission victory, but followed it up with a loss in the Russia-based promotion RCC.

Former UAE Warriors bantamweight champion and current UAE Warriors Arabia champion Xavier Alaoui returns to the cage as well to face Filipino “Oragon” Jayson Margallo, who looks to earn his first win with the promotion in his third attempt. Two top-level women’s flyweight prospects will square off as recent Road to UFC competitor Josefine Lindgren Knutsson faces undefeated Australian striking specialist Jacinta Austin. Former ACB and Cage Warriors flyweight contender Aaron Aby will attempt to snap a two-fight skid against Victor Nunes, who has only won three of his last nine and returns after a year and a half layoff. Two-time Dana White’s Contender Series veteran Dennis Buzukja will face Mark Gregorio Valerio in an attempt to finally earn a UFC contract as Valerio will try to snap a four-fight run of losses in his return to action after over three years away.

MMA Sucka has fight fans covered with UAE Warriors 36 results, with the event starting at 9am ET/6am PT, and will be available to watch on UFC Fight Pass.
