PFL’s latest poster-girl and the woman who is heading up the new female flyweight division, Dakota Ditcheva has a new opponent for her upcoming bout. Kicking off PFL Europe in Newcastle on March 25th, Ditcheva was set to clash with Clara Ricignuolo in the co-main event. It was revealed today, however, that Ricignuolo has had to withdraw with an undisclosed injury.
Replacing Ditcheva’s original opponent will be Swede, Malin Hermansson. Hermansson’s record sits at 5-4, however, she’s without a win since July 2020 and is enduring a three fight losing run, most recently in June 2022.
Ditcheva
There’s little doubting Ditcheva’s star-power. She’s certainly the poster girl of the PFL’s smaller weight classes. Training out of Manchester Top Team, Ditcheva sits undefeated at 7-0, with only one fight going the distance.
She debuted for the promotion at PFL London last August, dominating Hassna Gaber, before a first round finish. Next came Katherine Corogenes on the PFL’s 2022 Champions event. Live from the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden, Ditcheva shone and knocked out Corogenes in the fisrt round.
Post fight, she emplored fans not to doubt her and that her ‘hype train’ will keep on rolling.
PFL Europe – Newcastle
When the PFL takes over Newcastle on the 25th March, the card will be the beginning of their light heavyweight and female flyweight European tournament. The winner will have the oppurtunity to book their place on the 2024 main roster and have a shot at $1 million.
Ditcheva will feature in the co-main event with fellow brit, Simeon Powell headlining against decorated Dutch kickboxer, Mohamed Amine.
