Mere days after a tough loss to Justin Gaethje at UFC 291, Dustin Poirier delved into another bout. His charity, The Good Fight Foundation, handed out more than 1,000 backpacks to children in need in Lafayette Louisiana on Wednesday.
The Good Fight Foundation, a charity founded by Poirier and his wife, Jolie, hosted its third annual back-to-school supply pick-up. Three backpacks maximum were handed out to each vehicle while pizza was served.

Poirier said he is excited to give back to his community of Lafayette.
“It makes me feel good and I know there’s a need in the community,” Poirier told KLFY 10 News, a Lafayette, LA television station.
Poirier told Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour he plans to auction off his UFC 291 fight kit as he always does.
The Good Fight Foundation has helped purchase new water wells, 43.21 acres and a solar-powered water well for the Batwa Pygmy Tribe in Uganda; honored a dying boy’s wish of building a playground for disabled children; raised $6,500 for a fallen police corporal’s family; raised funds for St. Jude’s Research Hospital in the battle against childhood cancer; hosted Thanksgiving food drives; donated car seats for women and children in need; supported the late Peyton Murphy, a Youngsville, LA, resident who battled cancer; and more.
