One of CageWarriors hottest stars, Jordan Vucenic has finally signed for the biggest promotion in the world, the UFC. The Epidemic has a record of 13-2 and is currently enjoying an impressive four fight winning run, including four straight finishes. His only loss in CageWarriors came when he rematched Paul Hughes for the CWFC Featherweight Championship in November 2022.

His lone CageWarriors loss has seemed to light a fire in him and he’ll look to continue his good form into his UFC tenure.

Short Notice in Abu Dhabi

There’s little doubt that Vucenic deserves an opportunity in the UFC, however, it comes in an unexpected manner. The 28 year old Brit will step in to replace Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady after he was forced to pull out due to injury. He’ll be stepping in to face Guram Kutateladze, a tough fight for anyone at lightweight. With that being said, his signing to the UFC came as no real surprise to followers of his career. He made his return to lightweight last time out, submitting Adrian Kępa in a little over a minute. This win came on July 20th and so the Brit has the chance to pick up two wins in a little over two weeks.

The Georgian Viking is coming off  disappointing back to back losses to Damir Ismagulov and then to Elves Brener over a year ago. Kutateladze saw himself finished against Brener in round three of that bout. His losing streak comes as a surprise to many as he was successful in his debut against Mateusz Gamrot, albeit via split decision.

With a win over Kutateladze, Vucenic would position himself just on the edge of the division’s ranked fighters. Unfortunately for the Brit, he’s entering the UFC in one of the most stacked divisions.

Vucenic joins names including Dan Hardy, Michael Bisping, Tom Aspinall and Paddy Pimblett, amongst a whole host of others who have joined the UFC after a successful CageWarriors career.
