The second event of the month of August in MMA‘s top promotion is about to commence. Tonight, the UFC Apex facility plays host to another edition of UFC Fight Night: UFC on ESPN 61. Live coverage of this UFC event begins at 5 pm ET/ 2 pm PT on ESPN and ESPN+.

Due to several fights being removed from the itinerary in the final days leading up to the card, tonight’s bout order is a little smaller than usual. Only 10 fights will be held at the Apex.

Main Event

At the top of the bill tonight is a top-10 showdown at heavyweight. No. 8 contender Marcin Tybura (25-8 MMA, 12-7 UFC) and No. 9 contender Serghei Spivac (16-4 MMA, 7-4 UFC) for the second time. This main event is an advertised maximum of five rounds at five minutes per round to close out the program.

Co-Main Event

Preceding that heavyweight showdown, featherweights take to the cage as Damon Jackson (23-6-1 MMA, 6-4-1 UFC) takes on Chepe Mariscal (16-6 MMA, 3-0 UFC).

Rest of the Card

Also on this evening’s main card, you’ll see a welterweight contest matching Danny Barlow (8-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) against Nikolay Vertennikov (12-4 MMA, UFC debut), a bantamweight fight between Chris Gutierrez (20-5-2 MMA, 8-3-1 UFC) and Quang Le (8-0 MMA, UFC debut), a women’s bantamweight match pitting No. 12 contender Yana Santos (14-8 MMA, 4-5 UFC) against No. 14 contender Chelsea Chandler (6-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC), and a bantamweight affair between Toshiomi Kazama (10-4 MMA, 0-2 UFC) and Charalampos Grigoriou (8-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC).
