A return for “Robocop” appears near. According to the coach of ONE Championship star Roberto Soldic, he is ready to compete later in 2024. It will mark his first appearance since a loss to Zebaztian Kadestam at ONE Fight Night 10 in May 2023.

Soldic was the darling of the MMA world in 2022. The Croatian was on a seven-bout winning streak that began with a knockout of Dricus du Plessis, now the UFC Middleweight Champion. Soldic with ONE and made his debut in December, but it did not go as planned.

A low blow from Murad Ramazanov caused the bout to end in a no-contest. When he returned, “Robocop” found life difficult against the former ONE Welterweight MMA World Champion. Kadestam rallied from a hard-hitting first round to finish Soldic in the second.

Since then, the 29-year-old has been back at home preparing for his return. Via an Instagram post from Ivan Dijakovic, a date and opponent are set. However, ONE has not confirmed any details.

“It’s been quiet for a long time about Soldic, prepare for the return of ‘Robocop.’ We’ve never chosen opponents, we’ve never rejected opponents. Roberto [Soldic] always wants to fight against the best possible opponents, the fight date and opponent are set, we’re waiting for the fight contract,” Ivan Dijakovic wrote on Instagram.

The return of the Croatian will be big news. Soldic remains one of the brightest stars in the sport with big goals. “Robocop” is ready to prove his shaky start in ONE is behind him, and there is nothing but blue skies ahead.
