Ronda Rousey Signs with WWE

It was long speculated that former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey had signed with the WWE and would make an appearance at this year’s Royal Rumble event. Well the rumors were put to rest, and the truth was told, as Rousey made the stroll to the ring after the first-ever women’s Royal Rumble match.

“This is my life now,” Rousey told ESPN.com of her decision to join WWE. “First priority on my timeline for the next several years. This is not a smash-and-grab; this is not a publicity stunt. When I first met with Triple H, I told him, ‘There are other things I can do with my time that’ll make way more money, but I won’t enjoy nearly as much.’”

Rousey faced off with Rumble winner Asuka, Smackdown women’s champion Charlotte Flair and Raw women’s champion Alexa Bliss. There was nothing spoken, but Rousey pointed to the Wrestlemania banner, which would lead to even more speculation.
