After a week of UFC events on Fight Island, the octagon returns to Las Vegas with a heavyweight main event while MMASucka provides UFC Fight Night 184 results. As he attempts to make one last run at UFC gold, Alistair Overeem looks for his third straight win as he faces Alexander Volkov. In his last two fights, Overeem has picked up TKO wins over Walt Harris and Augusto Sakai. Picking up a third straight win could allow Overeem to climb further into the top five.
As for Volkov, he holds a record of 1-1 in his last two outings. The loss came against Curtis Blaydes as Blaydes defeated him by unanimous decision at UFC on ESPN 11. In his most recent outing, Volkov defeated Walt Harris by TKO at UFC 254.
UFC Fight Night 184 Results
In the co-main event, former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar makes his second appearance at bantamweight against Cory Sandhagen. Sandhagen started his UFC career 5-0 before suffering a submission loss to Aljamain Sterling. Since then, he has made up for the loss as he picked up a second-round TKO win over Marlon Moraes in his last fight.
Edgar enters the fight with a record of 1-2 in his last three outings. After a loss in a title fight against Max Holloway, Edgar would then suffer a TKO loss to Chan Sung Jung five months later. After making the move to bantamweight, he defeated Pedro Munhoz by split decision in the main event of UFC on ESPN 15.
Kicking off the main card will be a fight in the lightweight division as Diego Ferreira takes on Beneil Dariush. Ferreira has not fought in over a year as he holds a six-fight win streak while Dariush enters the fight on a five-fight win streak.
After that will be a flyweight bout as Alexandre Pantoja faces former Rizin bantamweight champion Manel Kape as he makes his UFC debut. Pantoja enters the fight coming off of a unanimous decision loss to Askar Askarov. Meanwhile, Kape enters his debut on a three-fight win streak with his most recent win being his title win that was in 2019.
Finally, before the bantamweight co-main event will be a lightweight fight between Michael Johnson and Clay Guida. Both men look to break their losing streaks as Johnson’s sits at three straight and Guida’s at two.
