Mayweather Retires; Returns to Boxing
Mayweather officially hung up his gloves back in 2015 after defeating Andre Berto via unanimous decision. A true fighter never stays away long, however, as proven by the 50-0 Mayweather when he returned to the ring for an exhibition match against UFC star Conor McGregor. Mayweather won the bout via 10th round TKO. This event recorded the second highest pay-per-view buy rate in history.
The main event starts at about 11 p.m. ET.
Can Logan Paul Outbox Floyd Mayweather?
Martin Lacroix, Logan Paul’s former trainer, thinks the former YouTuber can outbox Mayweather. Paul agrees. Both need a reality check. Paul cannot outbox the far more talented Mayweather. He does have his height, weight, and age to use to his advantage in the ring tonight, however. All it takes is one hit to finish a fight. He needs to use his age and weight/height advantages favorably if he plans on scoring a win tonight. The world may not actually be prepared for Logan Paul to win this boxing match. Mayweather isn’t worried about losing the fight, nor do fans anticipate a loss. But, anything can happen in the fight world.
Mayweather vs. Paul Results Undercard
Three undercard fights prior to the main event promise plenty of excitement.
A rematch between former champions Badou Jack and Jean Pascal was originally planned for the fight. However, after failing a drug test, Pascal was taken out of the fight. Dervin Colina steps in to take his place.
A Middleweight fight between former 154-pound champion Jarret Hurd and Luis Arias goes down while former NFL star Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson opens the show in a four-round bout against former MMA veteran Brian Maxwell.
