Anderson Silva: The Human, Not the Fighter

Anderson Silva has been doing more press than he has ever done before, leading up to his match at Tribute to the Kings. Prior to his bout with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. ‘Spider’ is speaking with small sites, big sites and everything in between and doing this all for the first time in English.

Anderson Silva The Human, Not the Fighter

This is the first time ever that fans and media are getting to know Anderson Silva the human, not the fighter.

“In this time in my life, I just try to do something special for myself and for my fans,” Anderson Silva told MMASucka.com. “I don’t need to prove nothing for anybody, but I can continue to do something special. Every single day I try to change something in the world. Change something in my side. I believe in the sport, it’s the connection for every single person, when you do something special in your sport, in your personal job, you inspire people. You inspire the new generation.

I’m very happy buddy. I know boxing is tough. I practiced boxing for many many years in my life. I fought in amateur boxing, professional boxing, not the same level, but I think this is a good challenge for myself and the message I try to pass for every single person in this world and my fans here in Mexico and the United States and in the world is that you can do anything when you have passion and when you love and that’s why I’m here.”

In 2005, Silva fought a professional boxing bout, where he knocked out Julio Cesar de Jesus. How will that experience, along with his time inside the Octagon help this fight today?

“Well, I have an amazing team. I’ve trained for many years and this moment is only for remember because you have muscle memory and that’s what I put in practice here.”
