Glory Collision 3 Full Fight Card Released

GLORY Kickboxing has announced the full card for GLORY Collision 3 taking place in the Gelre Dome in the Netherlands Saturday, October 23rd. Headlining the event, of course, is the mega-fight between GLORY Heavyweight champion Rico Verhoeven and UFC superstar and K-1 Champion Alistair Overeem in a match that has fans of all combat sports itching to see.

Glory Collision 3 Fight Card Announced

Verhoeven comes into the fight riding a 14-fight win streak and is looking for a 15th successful title defense. On his current win streak, he has wins over names like Badr Hari, Anderson Silva, and Antonio “Big Foot” Silva. Most impressively he won GLORY’s four-man tournament back in January defeating Hesdy Gerges and Tarik Khbabez.

Overeem heads over from the UFC where he was a title challenger at one time losing to Stipe Miocic in that attempt but he carved out a legacy that will one day see him in the UFC Hall of Fame with wins over Brock Lesnar, Frank Mir, Junior Dos Santos, Mark Hunt, and Fabricio Werdum. He was once a kickboxer early in his combat sports career and in the middle of his MMA career, he was able to participate in and win the K-1 World Grand Prix Final in 2010.

This is a big card for GLORY as they look to capitalize on the excitement that kickboxing has and no one better to do that than Hamicha. He is coming off three consecutive first-round knockouts and will be taking on Eyevan Danenberg who has won four of his last five bouts as well so that has fireworks written all over it.

In a matchup that has one familiar name to UFC fans, James McSweeney, who happens to be Overeem’s training partner, competed as a kickboxer before coming into MMA and debuting to the United States audience on the tenth season of the Ultimate Fighter, has 53 wins as a kickboxer with 31 knockouts. He will be taking on Antonio Plazibat, a former K-1 champion who is very explosive and always looking for a knockout, and will be welcoming McSweeney to GLORY as the veteran in this matchup.

More heavyweight action as top contender Jamal Ben Saddik will take on top-ranked Benjamin Adegbuyi. The fight will serve as a rematch from 2018 where Saddik defeated Adegbuyi in the finals of the GLORY 62 Eight-Man Heavyweight Tournament. This should serve as a number one contender bout against the winner of Verhoeven and Overeem for the heavyweight title in the main event barring a rematch in the event of an Overeem win.

In another top contender matchup, we have top-ranked light heavyweights Donegi Abena will take on Sergej Maslobojev. Abena is a former title contender in GLORY losing in both attempts but a win over Maslobojev could earn him a third crack at the belt. Maslobojev looks to keep his GLORY win streak going while also earning a title shot of his own and give the division some new blood and a name for fans to follow.

To round things out we get John King, who set the record for the fastest KO in GLORY when he knocked out Tommy Malton in 10-seconds, will take on Michael Duut, another fighter out of The Netherlands who has a reputation for creating fireworks.

All in all, fans are going to be treated to a fun card top to bottom as they tune in to one of the biggest matchups in combat sports history. They can catch the card starting at 3:00 PM EST in the United States on pay-per-view for a steal of $24.99 and tickets are on sale at tickets.glorykickboxing.com
