Polaris Professional Jiu-Jitsu returns for the second time in 2021 today with Polaris 17. The UK-based promotion will feature two title fights for this event, including the christening of a brand new title.
In the main event, the Polaris Middleweight Championship is up for grabs when Australian champion Craig Jones defends his title against current UFC lightweight Davi Ramos. The former Submission Underground openweight champion Jones is one of the most talented and exciting grapplers around right now, but Ramos also has a wealth of experience on the mats, having won multiple ADCC titles.
In the co-main event, the first Polaris Women’s Openweight champion will be crowned as recent Who’s Number One Championship finalist Kendall Reusing takes on Finland’s first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world champion Venla Luukkonen. This fight will be a rematch from the IBJJF European finals of 2020, where the Reusing submitted Luukkonen via bread cutter choke.
Meanwhile, the feature fight pits Polaris staple Jed Hue against 2019 Combat Jiu-Jitsu Worlds welterweight champion Kody Steele. Several other notable European grapplers will be featured also, including Tarik Hopstock, and Ben Hills, as well as MMA veterans Dominic Dillon, Scott Pooley, and Mateusz Szczecinski.
MMA Sucka has fans covered with up-to-date Polaris 17 results, with the card starting at 1:30pm ET/10:30am PT on UFC Fight Pass.
