The Best Bets for UFC Fight Night: Sandhagen vs Font

Ode Osbourne vs Assu Almabaev

[metabet_core_side_odds_tile query=”mma_game_team_win_method_submission/536980″ size=”350×300″ site_id=”metabet-website”]

Saturday night’s action will start in the flyweight division. Seven-fight UFC vet Ode Osbourne will welcome Assu Almabaev to his first walk to the Octagon. “The Jamaican Sensation” has had a shaky go in his UFC career thus far, as the 31-year-old has battled to a 4-3 record in the promotion, suffering all three of his losses by finish.

Almabaev will enter the bout with an impressive 17-2 record. Having not lost since 2017, the 29-year-old has put together a 13-fight win streak. Although the level of competition Almabaev has faced may not be to the same level as Osbourne, it is hard to ignore such an incredible streak.

Osbourne has been tapped twice in his career and with Kazakhstan’s Almabaev a jiu-jitsu threat of eight submission victories, the odds here are too good to pass up.

Fight Pick: Almavaev via Submission

Billy Quarantillo vs Damon Jackson

[metabet_core_side_odds_tile query=”mma_game_team_win_method_ko/536975″ size=”350×300″ site_id=”metabet-website”]

As both men are coming off of a loss, these two featherweight finishers will look to get their momentum back. Billy Quarantillo is coming off of a devastating knockout loss to Edson Barboza earlier this year. Prior to this loss, Quarantillo had found reasonable success during his time with the UFC, going 5-2 with four wins coming by way of finish.

Damon Jackson was stopped by Dan Ige earlier this year, snapping a four-fight win streak. “Action” Jackson is known for his ability to stop his opponents as well, finding three of his five UFC wins inside the final bell.

This fight will prove to be an action-packed showdown and should prove to provide a finish.

Fight Pick: Fight to End via Finish

Ignacio Bahamodes vs L’udovit Klein

[metabet_core_odds_compare query=”536973″ size=”350×300″ site_id=”metabet-website”]

The main card will kick off with an exciting matchup in the lightweight division. After losing his UFC debut at UFC on ABC 2, Ignactio Bahamodes has been on a tear. The lanky fighter from Chile jumped back in the win column as he earned Performance of the Night honors when he knocked out Roosevelt Roberts via spinning wheel kick. Since then, the VFS Academy fighter has secured two more victories, topping Trey Ogden in his most recent walk to the Octagon.

L’udovit Klein fought Jai Herbert in his last fight. After fifteen minutes, the fight ended in a majority draw. The decision came with controversy as Herbert was deducted a point in the final round for a groin strike—a contested groin strike by fans and pundits alike. In any case, Klein vastly underperformed in this fight, especially considering he entered the fight as a moderate favorite.

The odds here are right. Smart money lands on the hot Bahamodes.

Fight Pick: Ignacio Bahamodes Moneyline

Jessica Andrade vs Tatiana Suarez

[metabet_core_odds_compare query=”536971″ size=”350×300″ site_id=”metabet-website”]

In the co-main event, fans will witness a high profile matchup in the women’s strawweight division. Andrade, a grizzled vet and former UFC Strawweight Champion, has had a rough go as of late, as the 31-year-old has lost her last two fights by finish. The Brazilian will have her hands full as she does battle with Tatiana Suarez.

Suarez is a surging wrestler and currently ranked #10 in the 115-lbs. division. The Millenia MMA fighter is 9-0 with six finishes. Suarez is too tall, too long, and too dangerous for Andrade and will prove it tomorrow night.

Fight Pick: Tatiana Suarez via Finish

Corey Sandhagen vs Rob Font

[metabet_core_odds_board query=”541698″ site_id=”metabet-website”]

The night will close with a catchweight bout of two bantamweight killers. Corey Sandhagen was scheduled to fight Umar Nurmagomedov but Nurmagomedov withdrew from the bout due to shoulder injury. Rob Font would then step up on short notice to keep the main event alive.

Font jumps in to play the underdog role Saturday night as many cite Sandhagen as the more capable striker in the matchup. Both men are known for the finishing capability, so the five rounds slated for this bout are simply not going to be needed.

Fight Pick: Fight to End Under 3.5 Rounds (-3.5 Rds)
