UFC Vet Honors 9/11 Fallen

For the former WEC Bantamweight Champion, today is a day to remember. Twenty-two years ago, the U.S. was attacked on their homeland. The September 11th terrorist attacks ended up taking the lives of nearly 3,000 people.

Wineland, who serves as a firefighter for Laporte Fire Department, has made it a tradition each year to honors those who lost their lives as a result of the World Trade Center attacks by climbing 2,071 steps, the amount of stairs inside of each of the Twin Towers.

Two thousand nine hundred and seventy-seven people lost their lives on 9/11/2001, including three hundred forty-three firefighters. The first attack occurred at 8:46 a.m. on the North Tower of the World Trade Center.

Never forget.
