Badr Hari is set to make his GLORY return next month at GLORY 89. After an unprecedented turn of events which saw Hari withdraw from his main event clash against James McSweeney at GLORY 88 minutes before the bout was set to begin, GLORY have announced that the Moroccan kickboxing legend will be making his return to the ring against Uku Jurjendal at next month’s show in Bulgaria.

Hari elected not to fight at GLORY 88 due to the devastating earthquakes that affected his home region in Morocco in the hours preceding. With thousands left dead and many more displaced, Hari felt that it would be inappropriate to conduct a display of entertainment like a fight in such a traumatic time. As a result, he famously stepped into the ring and announced that he would not be competing.
Delayed by almost a month, Hari will return against heavyweight contender Uku Jurjendal in a matchup which will likely be a qualifier for the Heavyweight Grand Prix set to take place this December. Jurjendal’s last preformance in GLORY saw him reach the final of a heavyweight tournament in GLORY 87 before being defeated by “The Golden Wolf” Bahram Rajabzadeh via Unanimous Decision. With a record of 2-2 inside the GLORY ring with both of his finishes coming via first round KO’s, Uku Jurjendal represents a tough test for any fighter and Hari will have to be on his A game if he wishes to win and qualify for December
