One of the most anticipated fights in history goes down this weekend for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, live from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Predictably, the father of Fury, John Fury had to try and make fight week about him, steal the headlines and be in the spotlight, as he often does when any of his sons fight.
Team Usyk and Team Fury were caught up in a minor altercation, with members of the Ukrainian’s team chanting ‘Usyk, Usyk‘. It then turned nasty.

Footage has emerged in which John Fury goes head to head with a member of Team Usyk, before headbutting him and consequently being broken up. Chants of ‘Usyk, Usyk’, started again to which Fury shouted: ‘We are Spartans, we are Spartans.’ He then went on to announce to the entire room: ‘Eh, the greatest show on earth has begun, here in Saudi Arabia. Enjoy, this is what it’s about, enjoyment, entertainment, welcome’.
We don’t predict that any sanctions will be taken, however, it’s another event to add to the list of John Fury’s fight week antics. He constantly tries to steal the show and make the fight week about him. He’s unhinged and unfortunately for Tyson Fury, it takes a little of the shadow off him. There’s a reason that when Tyson fights in America, John Fury is banned from the country, dating back to a historic crime. In 2010, Fury gouged a man’s eye out in a brawl, leading to a prison sentence.
The fight between Tyson and Usyk which was originally scheduled for February, however, a cut suffered by The Gypsy King delayed the fight until Saturday night. It marks the first time that all four of the the heavyweight titles will be on the line since 1999 when Lennox Lewis defeated Evander Holyfield via unanimous decision.
