The first fight of the UFC 171 pay-per-view was kicked off in the light heavyweight division, as Ovince Saint Preux took on Nikita Krylov.

Saint Preux took the fight to the mat almost instantly and worked to side control. He locked in a Von Flue choke, which put Krylov to sleep.

Saint Preux (14-5) improved his winning streak to four in a row, with three of those coming inside the Octagon.
