David Perron vs. Curtis Harriott welterweight title fight at BFL 53

A title fight is set for the BFL 53 co-main event, as David Perron vs. Curtis Harriott will vie for the welterweight gold.

BFL (Battlefield Fight League) officials told MMASucka.com of the title fight.

David Perron vs. Curtis Harriott vie for gold at BFL 53

Perron (9-7) is riding a two-fight winning streak. His last loss coming at the hands of Chris Anderson in 2016. His two fights in 2017 have come via first round stoppage, as he tapped out both Ash Mashreghi at BFL 49 and Mike Dubois at BFL 52.

Harriott (4-3) started off his pro career on a three-fight winning streak. He has since gone 1-3 in his last four outings. Most recently Harriott lost to Zach Conn at BFL 47, in his lone fight of 2017.

Perron and Harriott are the number one and two ranked welterweights behind Anderson under the BFL banner.

As BFL President Jay Golshani previously stated, if anything happens to the main event, which he’s hoping to be between Anderson and Matt Dwyer, then one of these two warriors could step in.

Other fights expected for the BFL 53 fight card are Jamie Smyth vs. Caio MachadoJamie Siraj vs. Radley Da SilvaJames Foster vs. an unnamed opponent and Hardeep Singh will make his long-awaited BFL return. The promotion is also hoping to put a bout together with two undefeated fighters, Achilles Estremadura and Alexi Argyriou.

BFL is doing everything it can to make its 53rd event the biggest fight card in British Columbia history.

BFL 53 goes down on Jan. 13, 2018 from the Hard Rock Casino in Coquitlam, British Columbia.
