Alistair Overeem’s Top 5 Best Knockouts

Alistair Overeem will look to win the trilogy against Badr Hari when he faces the dangerous heavyweight fighter this weekend at GLORY Collision 4. “The Demolition Man” has had an incredible career between Kickboxing and MMA. Having made his combat sports debut in 1999, he has earned some illustrious titles such as K-1 World Grand Prix Champion, Strikeforce Heavyweight World Champion, Dream Heavyweight World Champion, and was a perpetual top contender when he competed in the UFC and PRIDE FC.

Between MMA and Kickboxing, Overeem has earned over 30 victories by way of KO/TKO. On this list, we will count down the five best knockouts of Alistair Overeem’s career ahead of his headlining fight this weekend October 8.

Alistair Overeem’s Top Five Best Knockouts

5. Alistair Overeem vs Andrei Arlovski

The Dutch-born fighter earned an impressive second-round TKO stoppage against the former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski. This victory earned Overeem a performance of the night bonus. This win extended Overeem’s win streak further in the UFC and earned him a title shot.

4. Alistair Overeem vs Peter Aerts II

In the final match of the 2010 K-1 World Grand Prix, the legendary Dutch heavyweight Peter Aerts was looking to earn his fourth K-1 tournament championship. The all-time great instead met Alistair Overeem in the finals of this Grand Prix. The younger Dutchman muscled, battered, and finished Aerts with a first-round TKO stoppage. Overeem took the championship for himself in what was previously the last match of his kickboxing career.

3. Alistair Overeem vs Ewerton Teixeira

Brazil’s Ewerton Teixeira is an imposing figure in Kyokushin Karate circles. Overeem finished him with a brutal knee in the clinch which flatlined the karate striker in round 1 of their meeting.

2. Alistair Overeem vs Badr Hari I

“The Demolition Man” was an MMA fighter who had not competed in kickboxing for years. In 2008, he made a return to the sport and faced the top-ranked fighter at heavyweight. Overeem shocked audiences when he knocked out Badr Hari in round 1 of their first match. A year later, Hari would get his revenge. This weekend, they will have their third fight.

1. Alistair Overeem vs Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar was the former UFC heavyweight champion by the time he met the Dutch fighter in their main event fight. Lesnar had defeated notable fighters such as Shane Carwin, Randy Couture, and Frank Mir in his UFC run. Overeem battered and brutalized the body of Lesnar finishing the former champion in round 1 of their match.

The Dutch Overeem will be looking to make a successful return to kickboxing this weekend when he meets the Dutch-Moroccan Badr Hari in the main event of GLORY Collision 4 on October 8.
