ARES FC 14 Results

French promotion ARES FC returns today with ARES FC 14, live from its home base of the Dome de Paris in the French capital.

The main event features two UFC veterans fighting for the interim welterweight championship, as Mickael Lebout takes on Laureano Staropoli. After a 1-2 run in the UFC, hometown favorite “Ragnar” Lebout has fought all over the world, and is riding a three-fight win streak which includes a win over Karl Amoussou at ARES FC 10. The Argentinian “Pepi” Staropoli started his UFC tenure hot by winning two fights in a row, but fell apart after that, losing four in a row to get cut from the promotion. He has won both of his fights since then, scoring unanimous decision wins at ARES FC 5 and ARES FC 9.

The co-main event sees flyweight champion Ivana Petrovic defend her belt for the first time against longtime Polish prospect Ewelina Wozniak. The 28-year-old Bosnia-born Norwegian Petrovic is undefeated at 5-0 to start her career, and earned an upset third-round submission victory over Alexandra Tekenah in the ARES FC 8 main event to claim the 125 pound title. The 29-year-old “Mad Queen” Wozniak was on the cusp of a Dana White’s Contender Series call-up going into her fight against Maria Silva at ARES FC 4, but succumbed to a third-round submission to briefly derail the hype train behind her. She returned at ARES FC 7 to earn a submission victory of her own and cement herself as the next title challenger. Expect the winner of this fight to be featured on Dana White’s Contender Series this summer, or receive a call to the UFC outright.

A rematch of an ARES FC 9 bout between Robert Valentin and Pietro Penini will take place as well, as their previous bout ended in a no-contest. Both fighters will seek finality tonight.

Former EFC flyweight champion Luthando Biko will make his promotional debut on the main card when he battles French 23-fight veteran Samir Faiddine.

MMA Sucka has fight fans covered with ARES FC 14 results, with action kicking off at 1pm ET/10am PT on UFC Fight Pass.
