BKFC Fight Night Mohegan Sun is upon us. Because we’re close to the Christmas holiday, we’ll be opening up this piece a little bit differently. Here it goes:
‘Twas the fight before Christmas, and all through the house, all the creatures were stirring, including the mouse. The fans were seated on their couches with care and did not leave until the snack trays were bare.”
Why would they want to leave the couch, anyway? By the time BKFC Fight Night Mohegan Sun rolls around this coming weekend, there will be five shopping days left until the big guy in the red suit makes an entrance down the chimney. Besides, last-minute shopping for the holiday and last-minute details for Yuletide gatherings can wait with fights like the ones on offer this weekend at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT.

Coverage of Saturday night’s show begins with the countdown show at 5 pm ET/ 2 pm PT. As always, YouTube will carry the countdown show. The fights themselves commence an hour later at 6 pm ET/ 3 pm PT. DAZN and the BKFC app will carry BKFC Fight Night Mohegan Sun gavel-to-gavel on Saturday evening. If there are no adjustments to be made to the schedule, the final version of the event will feature 11 contests from David Feldman’s promotion.
BKFC Fight Night Mohegan Sun Main Event: No. 4 Contender Parker Porter vs. Anthony Garrett
At the top of the bill on Saturday night, the heavyweights make the walk to the ring in the BKFC Fight Night Mohegan Sun main event of the evening. No. 4 contender Parker Porter (2-0 bare-knuckle,) who went 14-9 in MMA, looks to move up in the top five when he meets Anthony Garrett (3-0 bare-knuckle.)
All fights on Saturday night’s card will be an advertised maximum of five rounds at two minutes per round, main event included. Parker enters the main event having gone 3-2 in his last five fights across all competitions dating back to 2023.
At the moment, he’s won two fights in succession. Most recently, he scored a first-round knockout of Dillon Cleckler (3-2 bare-knuckle) back on the night of June 14.
Garrett wasn’t supposed to have been Porter’s opponent for BKFC Fight Night Mohegan Sun on Saturday evening. Originally, he was to have knuckled up against Josh Copeland (2-2 bare-knuckle) before the latter had to bow out of the card. Will the change in opponent result in an altered gameplan for Garrett?
Meanwhile, Anthony Garrett has also yet to lose in his bare-knuckle career and owns a 4-1 record with one no-contest in his last five appearances across the disciplines. Back on June 21, he stopped Haze Wilson (3-1 bare-knuckle) inside the first round. Prior to Garrett being rebooked to clash with Porter, he was to fight Chase Gormley (1-1 bare-knuckle.) Gormley has stayed on the card for a fight against Tracey Johnson in the latter’s bare-knuckle debut.
The stakes are higher for Garrett now that he’s boxing Parker Porter on Saturday. Can he go home for the holidays with a number next to his name?

BKFC Fight Night Mohegan Sun Co-Main Event: Pat Casey vs. David Sanchez
Immediately beforehand, middleweights take to the ring for the BKFC Fight Night Mohegan Sun co-main event between Pat Casey (2-2 bare-knuckle) and David Sanchez (2-0 bare-knuckle.) Casey has posted a record of 3-2 in his last five appearances across all competitions.
Last time out, he scored a first-round TKO due to a doctor’s stoppage after his opponent, John Howard (0-1 bare-knuckle,) sustained a cut and could not press forward in the fight. Much like the fighters in the main event of the evening, Casey has had to deal with changes in opponents ahead of BKFC Fight Night Mohegan Sun, as he was to face Bryan McDowell.
He’s been batting .500 up to now in bare-knuckle, but will he stay in the win column this time? Across the way, David Sanchez is still unbeaten in BKFC and he faces a quick turnaround ahead of Saturday’s card.
On Nov. 1, he secured a second-round knockout over Terryl Johnson (0-1 bare-knuckle) in the latter’s debut. By the time Saturday’s card begins, 50 days will have elapsed between fights for Sanchez. Can he go 3-for-3?
BKFC Fight Night Mohegan Sun Featured Bout: Peter Barrett vs. Tony Pike
Also on BKFC Fight Night Mohegan Sun, the evening’s featured contest happens at lightweight. Peter Barrett (1-0 bare-knuckle) meets up with Tony Pike (2-5 MMA, bare-knuckle debut.) Barrett will be making the walk on Saturday night looking to build off of his debut win six months ago.
That night, he needed just 30 blistering seconds to finish off Nash Diedrichs (1-2 bare-knuckle) at the selfsame Mohegan Sun Arena where this weekend’s card takes place. Will the familiar surroundings lead to a second win in the venue?
In the other corner, Tony Pike will be making his first combat sports appearance in 15 months’ time. On Sept. 14 of last year, he fought in Cage Titans 67, losing by way of second-round knockout due to elbows against Miguel Sevasin (4-0 MMA.)
Three of Sevasin’s MMA wins have come by way of knockout. With Pike coming off of a hiatus of over a year, his bare-knuckle boxing debut on Saturday night gives him an opportunity for a clean slate.
Rest of the Card
Other than the Tracey Johnson vs. Chase Gormley heavyweight fight mentioned previously, BKFC Fight Night Mohegan Sun’s main card is rounded out by these fights:
- a middleweight showdown between Gary Balletto III (1-0 bare-knuckle) and Skyler Mauller (1-1 bare-knuckle,)
- a bantamweight fight matching Lardy Navarro (3-1 bare-knuckle) with Anthony Sanchez (1-2 bare-knuckle,)
- a strawweight clash versing Crystal Van Wyk (2-1 bare-knuckle) and Gabrielle Roman (1-3-1 bare-knuckle,)
- and a lightweight contest pairing Rico DiSciullo (1-0 bare-knuckle) against Stash Kuykendall (0-1 bare-knuckle.)
