Dave Feldman, BKFC president, said of signing, “We always are looking to sign fighters that can move the needle and fight, and that is exactly what Rachael brings to the table. I am looking forward to her debut in July. I know she is training hard and working on her boxing every day and we expect very big things from Rachael.”

“I am so excited to fight in the fastest growing sport in the world,” said Ostovich. “I’m looking forward to my debut in July. I have seen and heard great things about BKFC, and am very happy to be a part of the team. Can’t wait to announce the opponent!”

Rachael Ostovich Signs with BKFC

Ostovich was cut by the UFC at the end off last year on the tails of a three fight losing streak, all coming by finish. She debuted with an armbar win over Karine Gevorgyan after going 1-1 on TUF 26, submitting Melinda Fabian before dropping a decision to Barb Honchak in the next round. Despite sporting only a 4-6 record in MMA now, the Hawaiian remains a fan favorite, sporting over 700,000 Instagram followers.

The signing comes after announcements earlier this week of the signings of fellow UFC and Invicta veteran Pearl Gonzalez and Russian bare knuckle boxing star Ekaterina Makarova. The signings come on top of the previous signing of Paige VanZant, who dropped her BKFC debut to Britain Hart back in February.

Who Does Ostovich Face?

Rachael Ostovich has made her desire clear for a rematch against “12 Gauge” VanZant, who she was submitted by back in January 2019. Given both of their large followings, and the proposed debuts for Gonzalez (May 21) and Makarova (June) not aligning with Ostovich’s July debut, that fight could be around the corner. If not, she could try to avenge another loss to Christine Ferea, who beat Ostovich back in 2017 and has fought for BKFC on multiple occasions, most recently in September.
