Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) Thailand is set to return for its sophomore outing, BKFC Thailand 2: Iconic Impact, tonight, live from the Pattaya Event and Convention Hall (PEACH). Fighters from ten countries will be represented and all have extensive striking backgrounds, making for an exciting night of fights.
BKFC Thailand 2 will be headlined by two title fights. In the main event, former boxing multi-division world champion Sirimongkhon Lamthuan will be looking to add the inaugural BKFC Thailand Light Heavyweight Championship to his mantle in his home country against Russian Muay Thai standout “Street Fight Mike” Mikhail Vetrila. The co-main event will put the inaugural BKFC Thailand Strawweight Championship on the line as French regional Muay Thai and Lethwei world champion Souris Manfredi faces Greek striker Fani Peloumpi.
The card will host several exciting bouts, including decorated kickboxer Tofan Pirani versus former wrestling and Jiu-Jitsu world champion Arash Mardani and BKFC Thailand 1: The Game Changer main event winner Keivan Soleimani versus 300-fight combat sports veteran Paitoon “Rock” Jaikom.
There are also three rematches set between bitter rivals. At heavyweight, Iran’s Akbar Karimi will try to get revenge on former Muay Thai foe and Bellator vet Steve “Panda” Banks of the USA. A pair of 25-year-old lightweights from Thailand’s underground fighting circuit are set to go to battle in a grudge match that has been brewing and growing attention on social media for a few years when Naeem Binhar goes up against Sornchai “Maseng” Kantiphong. Finally, the originally-scheduled main event for BKFC Thailand 1 between TJ Chang and Fabiano Hawthorne has been rebooked, as their bad blood will boil over in a rematch of their prior bare-knuckle boxing bout which Hawthorne won by fourth-round stoppage after Chang could not continue due to heat exhaustion at the outdoor event.
Before all of that, however, four more thrilling bouts are set to take place. Pongpisan “Ton” Chunyong returns to action following a scintillating victory at BKFC Thailand 1 to face 200-fight boxing and Muay Thai veteran Sudan “Sitpholek” Kulubon. At 20 years old, Thanatorn “Mahaheng” Kamwan has already headlined Muay Thai shows in some of Thailand’s biggest stadiums, but he will face a stiff test against 78-fight Muay Thai veteran Thodsaphon “Konkom” Wannahat. Former Asian boxing champion Sadudee Srimueang will make his BKFC debut against Thailand’s sixth-ranked super welterweight boxer in Phatiphan “Tiger” Krungklang. Lastly, the card will be kicked off by former two-division WBC champion Usanakorn Thawinsuhannawang as she battles fellow experienced boxer Benjamas Phakra.
