Combate Global: Diaz vs. Porto Results

Combate Global returns on Friday night with another five-fight slate main evented by a fight between Moses Diaz (4-0) and Juan Porto (11-3) at a 150-pound catchweight.

Fight fans can stream Combate Global: Diaz vs. Porto, in full, on Paramount+, beginning at 11 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT. The event will go down live from the promotions’ home in Cisneros Studios in Miami, Florida.

Main Event: Moses Diaz vs. Juan Porto

Diaz, an unbeaten force thus far in his young MMA career, will look to pass the toughest test of his career in Porto, a fighter with more than three times the amount of professional experience. The American has finished each of his four professional bouts with his last two coming against Carlos Cordoba Fonseca in just six seconds in Combate, and Johnson Nasona at LFA 119. The American can cement his status as a rising prospect with a win over his opponent, a winner in nine of his last 10 bouts.

Porto also carries with him an additional seven years of experience that he may be able to use to his advantage. While the play against younger fighters is usually to extend them, particularly when they have proven to be fast finishers, Porto has a killer instinct in his own right. Each of his last three wins have come by way of three different submissions, and if he can get Diaz to the mat, he might be able to find his fourth submission in as many fights or grind out a decision. Either way, neither fighter is lacking in momentum, so the winner will stand to gain significantly regardless of the fight’s outcome.

Rest of the Card

The evening’s co-main event will feature Mexican welterweights Daniel Sanchez and Gerardo Bazaldua. Sanchez is looking to rebound and build some momentum of his own, having exchanged wins and losses in each of his last four fights. Similarly, Bazaldua is looking to go on a run of his own, and will have the opportunity to win consecutive fights for the first time in his career if he can defeat Sanchez, who wants to piece together the first consecutive victories of his young career at the expense of the 32-year-old Sanchez.

Elsewhere on the card, Invicta FC vet Katie Perez and iKON vet Kayla Hracho will each be seeking a fourth-career victory, while three-fight Combate veteran Gabriel Morales will welcome 28-year-old American Scottie Stockman to the promotion. A flyweight clash between Chile’s Javier Valdebenito and American debutant Henry Beltran is slated to open the show.
